Wooowee – neighbors….

Pre-amble…… that sammich last night did me dirt…… I made a ‘mad’ dash to the bathroom shortly before I made it into bed – 2 more ‘mad’ dashes during the course of the night and two more after I got up this morning…… Wow – at this point I have decided if I ever meet the person that invented Preparation H – I’m gonna kiss them or shake their hand….. whichever applies. I should mention that “Shi**ing Lava” is apparently a very real thing. A hard lesson learned (but it was still a damn good sammich)

After a hearty breakfast which mercifully stayed inside me, we settled into a calm cool day as we were doused with intermitted rain showers most of the day. I spent the bulk of the day trying to get my money back for our cancelled trip. Happy to report I am within $ 143 of getting it all back…..AND I ain’t givin’ up on that last amount. About the time I had my fill of talking on the phone and filling out on line forms – we went out for a smoke. About that time our neighbors pulled in. We have known these folks, literally, before we got to the island (long story) but have become good friends since we’ve been here. They came over while we enjoyed our smoke and got to chatting. In true New Harmony back yard style – we offered up something to drink, we moved to the comfort of the shade and our table while enjoying more drinks. They wound up pulling out some chips and salsa from their place when it dawned on me – I had forgot our hosting skills. So – more drinks made, I whooped up a big ole batch of BBQ meatballs and we sat and ate and drank and chatted and just had a heckva good time. It finally got late enough and the ‘skeeters’ got intense enough (plus alcohol limits were being met) that they finally headed back to their place and we retreated inside. In the last 2+ years, that is the first time we got to spend any kind of time with Mitch and Andrea – and it was just down right enjoyable. (For us anyways, I hope they felt the same). Guess I’m gonna have to go get me a grill and polish up the ole hosting skills in case they come over again…. show them some good ole Southern Indiana grillin’ skills……. 😉

Now – it’s late, I have about a half to three quarters of a headache…. and I’m ready for some sleep – seein’ as how last nights slumber left a LOT to be desired. So with that I’ll bid you adieu…… No new pictures… I mean after all – you seen rain…. right ? (Caribbean rain looks just like Southern Indiana rain – except it’s a LOT prettier where it lands)  😉

Good Night Ya’ll > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Thankx for stopping in~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
