Approaching holidays……

I spent most of my day today buying Christmas presents. Not bragging, actually maybe a little bit of a beef…. but with our current lifestyle, thinking 30 days out or so – is almost a must. Especially when we have a big move coming up here in about a week, which will take us off the grid for a day or so. Can happily say now though, our Grand Babies will all have gifts from Oma and Pa-Paw under the Christmas tree(s)…..

I know you don’t want to hear about that noise, and I really don’t want to talk about it – so I’m gonna leave you with a poem my Dad recited to me all the time… enough that I eventually memorized it (and can recite from memory). Take your time reading it, watch the punctuation and it will make perfect sense… and pretty good words to live by……

I’d rather be a could be,
If I couldn’t be an are.
For a could be is a maybe –
with a chance of touching par.
I’d rather be a has been,
that a might have been by far.
For a might have been, has never been.
But a has was once an are~!

I do not know who the author is – but Dad loved it, as so do I.

I have some really great pictures the Dive Master took the other day on my dive, but for reasons I haven’t figured out yet, they will not load. As soon as I figure them out – I’ll share~ (for now – some more of my pix)

Have a great evening~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
